Clinical Supervision for Music Therapists
Entering the field of Music Therapy after obtaining Board Certification can feel isolating and overwhelming. The field of Music Therapy comes with many challenges including advocacy efforts, institutional pressures and restrictions and the emotional strain that can result from providing intimate support during moments of trauma and intense emotional and psychological distress.
Continuing clinical supervision after completing initial Music Therapy training and Board Certification helps to strengthen the Therapist's clinical work, overall professionalism and emotional/mental health.
Due to the fact that individual needs vary drastically, clinical supervision plans are individualized after an initial consultation.
Clinical supervision may be provided weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or on an as needed basis. Sessions can be scheduled on a one time basis or multiple times.
Clinical Supervision rate:
$50 for a one hour phone/video call
$65 for a one hour in-person supervision session (if within Los Angeles County).
Supervisees may be provided with resources and/or assigned readings and suggestions based upon individually identified needs.
During supervision, individuals are provided with an opportunity process specific challenging clinical cases (while adhering to HIPAA guidelines). Clinical suggestions, guidance, resources and support will be provided.
Clinical Supervision also offers the opportunity for resume review, job search and networking suggestions and program development guidance and feedback.
The Medicinal Melodies Superstar Supervision approach for continuous supervision is individualized and tailored to the individual Music Therapists' needs however may include, meditation, music, Reiki and other self-reflection promoting experientials.
