Jenna Bollard is a Board Certified Music Therapist and Certified Child Life Specialist with additional certifications in NICU Music Therapy, Neurologic Music Therapy and Sound Birthing Music Therapy Assisted Child Birth. Jenna earned her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music and after gaining work experience decided to continue her education by earning a Master's degree in Music Therapy from New York University. Jenna has a wide range of experiences working with a diverse range of populations and is well versed in a variety of Music Therapy and psychotherapy approaches. Jenna is also a Certified Reiki Master and has extensively studied mindfulness, meditation and energy work.  Jenna's mission is to provide compassion, holistic support and empowerment to individuals in need through the use of music and creative modalities.

Manages Music Therapy and Art Therapy program. Facilitates development of program protocol, policies and procedures. Provides education and advocacy of Music Therapy services to staff, patients and their families. Manages Creative Arts related volunteers. Coordinates Celebrity and special guest visits. Developed internship curriculum and continues to implement education program for Music Therapy Internship program/coordinates with intern's universities. Provides ongoing clinical supervision for Music Therapy interns and is responsible for interviewing and selecting prospective interns and employees. 


Provides psychosocial/emotional and developmental support to patients and their families through clinical music therapy services. Facilitates music therapy assessment, treatment planning and completes clinical documentation. Facilitates 1:1 music therapy sessions and therapy groups along with providing procedural support, non-pharmacological symptom management, anticipatory grief and trauma support and supporting individualized clinical goals with music therapy interventions and the therapeutic relationship. Tracks program statistics to evaluate program impact. proposes and implements case studies and research as appropriate. 


Responsible for multi-disciplinary team communication and collaboration. Attends medical rounds and works closely with the pediatric pain and palliative team. Provides support to child life team and attends administrative meetings. Is a member of the NICU Developmental Care Committee. Attends team rounds for each inpatient unit. 

Communicates with program donors and coordinates philanthropic endeavors. Coordinates special events, fundraising, visiting artists, media opportunities and all creative arts related relationships and endeavors. Coordinates donations related to the expressive arts. 

Facilitates support, education and shadowing opportunities for hospital staff, residents and medical students. 

Facilitates efforts that aim for program development and expansion and promotes sustainability and efficacy of Expressive Arts Therapies services.

Part-time Music Therapist. Provided Music Therapy Services to patients and their families primarily on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit along with providing additional support on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit and other units as needed. 

Assisted with advocacy and education efforts by way of providing in-services and support groups. Assisted with media opportunities, attended weekly NICU rounds, worked with the multidisciplinary team regularly (providing co-treats as needed), assisted with celebrity and special guest visits and provided shadowing opportunities and support for Music Therapy interns.

Key Accomplishments During Employment:
-Assisted with piloting a case study on the NICU in collaboration with Occupational Therapy.
-Wrote and proposed a hospital policy regarding the use of music and sound on the NICU (approved by the CHLA Policy Committee).
